Covid-19 Updates

When to isolate

As you are aware there has been a recent up-swing in the number of Coronavirus cases nationally. I have attached the latest advice which we have received from the government. Please note that it says that when a member of a household has Coronavirus symptoms that person needs to isolate for 10 days and other household family members (including siblings) now need to isolate for 14 days. If your child does have a Coronavirus test please could you forward the results to us, regardless of whether the results are positive or negative,

We have also received this message from the local authority which we have been asked to share with parents:

‘If you have been instructed to self-isolate because you are a contact of a confirmed case, or in quarantine due to return from foreign travel, then a negative test result does not mean you can end isolation early. The virus can take time to develop and so a test early on does not prove that you won’t go on to develop the virus. That means you could still be at risk of spreading the disease to other people.’
