Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to term 3, I hope you all had a good Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year.

The topics for this term are:
Class 1: What a wonderful World!

Class 2: Human Geography

Class 3: The Americas

There are more details about these topics on our school website.  The clubs available this term are:

Monday after school: Football club (Year 3 – Year 6)

Thursday after school: Sports club – tdb (Year 3 – Year 6).

Clubs will start next week (from Mon 14 Jan).

We had lots of competition winners in the run-up to Christmas, the Christmas dinner plate colouring competition was won by: YR: Jack Wheeler; Y1: Flossie Broomfield; Y2: Lottie Fellows; Y3: Cherry Kingscott; Y4: Holly Harvie-Pullin; Y5: Dominic Withers; Y6: Phoebe Newsome.

The winners of the ‘design the programme cover for the play’ competition were Eva Biggs and Charlie Foster.  The best actor/singer awards went to: Izzy Sharp, Bobby Grey, Ella Reading, Oscar Vatcher and Josie Kingscott.  And finally the winners of the Road Safety poster competition were: 1st place: Junior Grey and Hugo Charnley-Ward; 2nd place: Jess Davies and Amalie Hopkins; 3rd place: Dominic Withers.  The winners of this competition will hopefully have their designs printed onto serviettes in Oldbury Shop, to remind motorists and cyclist to travel at 20mph through our village.  A big ‘well done!’ goes to all our competition winners.

Could I remind you that there’ll be no swimming at Thornbury Leisure Centre on Monday afternoons this term but the swimming/PE sessions will resume next term (from Mon 25 Feb – Mon 1 April).  PE lessons will be on Monday and Thursday afternoons this term, as usual.
