Christian Values

The school’s Christian values are having a good impact on children’s academic achievement - SIAMS

Education Beyond the Curriculum

Education isn’t just about teaching the curriculum, it’s about providing a foundation that allows children to develop and flourish.

If you take a look at our Oldbury Newsletters you will see that Oldbury school offers a range of activities both during the school day and out of hours that give our children the opportunity to experience new ideas and develop new skills.

Packed diary – there is always something going on at Oldbury School, whether it’s the annual school trip to the pantomime, workshops and activity days, after-school and in-school clubs or fundraising parties organised by The Friends.

After school club – we have a popular after school club, which runs Monday to Friday until 6.00pm which is held at Olveston CEVC Primary – The OWL’s afterschool club has been a successful link between Oldbury and Olveston since our partnership began in January 2020. At this club, children get the opportunity to play outside and explore their creative side by completing a variety of craft activities.

Swimming in PE – Our KS2 children join up with our partner school – Olveston CEVC Primary – to take part in swimming coach led sessions at Tockington Manor. All of our KS2 children are catered for with coaches pitching the sessions to small groups who are working at a similar ability and confidence level.

Sporting events – Though we are a small school we hold our own in sporting events. We take part in local events such as cross-country, tag rugby or interschool competitions. These help children face competition and opportunities to win and lose (both are equally as important to experience).

Sports clubs – we are teaming up with our partner school to offer a wider range of after school sports clubs.
